Outer Banks Pet Friendly Vacations Q & A |
|
Hi! My name is "Teddy" (that’s “Terror-Ted” in Pirate). I have been coming to the Outer Banks with my owners for years. I would like to give you my views and tips on what rules to follow and what fun things there are to do for “man’s best friend” and their families, when vacationing on the Outer Banks. Kitty Dunes offers many Pet Friendly homes and I have stayed in quite a few. I am asked a large variety of questions. Throughout this pet friendly page, my friends and I will answer the most common questions asked.
First let us start with our Pet Friendly Vacation Homes and what you should know about them.

How many pets am I allowed in my Outer Banks Vacation Home?
Pet Friendly homes allow a maximum of 2 pets. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $95 (plus tax) for each pet. This fee paid prior to check in of Pet Friendly homes. Pets are prohibited in pool and hot tubs; such conduct will result in immediate eviction without refund plus a sanitizing fee up to $400 (plux tax). Please read Reservation Terms and Conditions. If you need to board your pet, please refer to Pet Boarding.
Not all homes are Pet Friendly. Many people have allergies to our furry friends and Kitty Dunes respects the wishes of owners that choose not to allow pets in their homes. Rental properties which state “No Pets” means “No Pets” and is strictly enforced. Violation of this regulation is grounds for eviction without refund as well as a $250 (plus tax) cleaning fee.
If you want to bring your best friend on vacation, view the list of all our Pet Friendly Rental Homes.

Are dogs allowed on the Outer Banks beaches?
Not all the townships allow pets on the beach in the summer. Here are the leash laws for the town you and your family will be staying in. Remember to always clean up after your pet. Please bring along a bag or scooper for pet waste removal. Please do not pollute the lovely beaches by burying waste in the sand or tossing it into the ocean.
