The Outer Banks of North Carolina is a two hundred mile (320km) span of barrier islands that stretch along the Atlantic Ocean. Dotting this entire expanse are unique towns which each offer their own distinct vacation experience. Carova Beach, the most northern tip of the Outer Banks, is where the wild horses roam and is only accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle. There are no paved roads here. Read more…
Corolla is located along the northern stretch of the Outer Banks and home to the Currituck Lighthouse. Here you’ll find many vacation friendly subdivisions such as Villages at Ocean Hill, Ocean Hill, Corolla Village, Corolla Light, Whalehead Beach, Monteray Shores, The Currituck Club and Ocean Sands, each with their own amenities and features. Southern Shores is a small community located between Duck and Kitty Hawk. You will find the beaches here are a little less crowded, as most of this town is home to local residents. Kitty Hawk is not only home to the Kitty Dunes Rentals main office, but it was once home to the Wright Brothers too. This five mile stretch of the Outer Banks offers 12 pubic beach accesses, lots of shopping and great restaurants too. Read more…
